Current projects

The Wyvern School Foundation Trust

Did you know we have our own registered charity!! The Wyvern School Foundation Trust was established in 2003 and has successfully raised funds for numerous amazing projects, funding the installation of outside play areas, our walking track, outside gym, MUGA and gazebo, to name but a few!

Through the Foundation we are currently raising funds to provide much needed refurbishment to the Primary Sensory outside play areas. Our aim is to provide all weather, outside areas packed full of exciting sensory play equipment (image from Pentagon Play).

"Given the level of need within The Wyvern school, many of the pupils struggle because of differences in the way they react to sensory input.   - having the right access to suitable outdoor equipment to support with regulation will help decrease negative behaviours

- place them in a better stead to engage in learning within the school.

- having access to such equipment will also provide ‘therapy’ to work on promoting skills which will be key to their future success.

- and having access to outdoor equipment which a pupil can use independently will also promote their wellbeing and self esteem."

"As an Occupational Therapist I am not only supportive of the possibility of better outdoor resources for The Wyvern, but I am excited about witnessing some of the positive impact I know this will have on the pupils who attend."    S Worthington Sensory OT

Minibus appeal

We are also raising funds to replace one of our beloved minibuses!!!

Our minibuses play such a vital part in our aim to give our young people the very best start in life and in preparing them for life after Wyvern. It could be a trip to a supermarket to practice independence, a visit to the library or making life time memories on a climbing wall!! None of these would be possible without our minibuses.

If you can help..please see ways to donate or offer support at the top of this page!
